Prof. Oliver Gutfleisch is an internationally recognized expert in the field of magnetic functional materials, in particular resource-efficient permanent magnetic materials, with over 570 publications in peer-reviewed journals and more than 290 invited talks; he is the speaker of several large consortia (DFG CRC/TRR270, ERC, EIC, ..) and has received many awards in magnetism and material science. He has over 30 years of experience in the field and heads a fully equipped institute for basic and applied magnetic research across all length scales of synthesis, characterization and simulation as well as resource criticality and recycling.
