At the Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems, researchers develop new materials for future energy technologies. With more than 60 researchers, the Research Center focuses on high-performance functional materials that are based on readily available raw materials and are cost-effective, durable, and energy-efficient.

The Research Center is part of the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr), where Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and University of Duisburg-Essen combine their strengths to form one of Germany’s most dynamic academic networks.
